Join us free of charge as we present several informational seminars and demonstrations throughout the day on November 22, 2008 at the Carrollton Ruritan Club (across the street from the Horse & Hound store).

Several vendors will be on site including:  Virginia West Boots & Art, Taunya Tae Photography, The Sign Shop, Custom Caballo, Hand Painted by Jeannine, local artist Suzanne Thornton, Pet Sitters, LLC, Jean Jackson/Mill Run Farm glass etchings & jewelry, Teeny Tiny Farm, Bunka with Flair/Painting with Thread, Girl Scout troups selling cookies and cookbooks, and more!

The Suffolk Hoofbeats 4-H Club will be on site giving horsey rides from 9-12 for a $3 donation.

Graz’n Acres Therapeutic Riding Center and the Tidewater Equine Rescue League will be on site with information as well as the Isle of Wight Humane Society and Isle of Wight Animal Shelter.

Horse & Hound will host a customer appreciation dinner free of charge at 5:30 pm to celebrate its first year under new ownership.

Giveaways will take place throughout the day and raffle tickets for an equine portrait by artist, Suzanne Thornton will be available for sale with proceeds to Graz’n Acres Therapeutic Riding Center. Guests who bring a donation for any of the organizations will receive a free raffle ticket for Suzanne’s painting. (dog food, cat food, kitty litter, bleach, laundry detergent, towels, horse blankets, feed buckets, etc.)

Christmas Ornament Contest

Help us decorate for the holidays and you could win a Horse & Hound gift certificate

Create a horse or hound ornament and bring it to the store on or before Wednesday, November 26 with a $5 entry fee. (Enter as many ornaments as you like - $5 fee applies to each ornament.) Ornaments will be displayed on our tree beginning Friday, November 28th. Customers will vote for their favorites through Saturday, December 20th and awards will be presented at a punch and cookies party at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 21st.

Ornaments must have a horse or hound theme and can be made from any materials. Please have them ready to hang and do not exceed 4" in size. The following age categories apply: 6 & Under; 7-11 years old; 12-16 years old; 17 & up.


Win an original painting by Suzanne Thornton!

Suzanne Thornton has generously donated a beautiful painting of a dapple grey horse running through the snow to be raffled off with 100% of the proceeds going to the Graz'n Acres Therapeutic Riding Center. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5 available now through November 22 at the store. Drawing will be held at the conclusion of the Horse & Hound Expo at 5:00 p.m. on November 22. You do not need to be present to win.
